Hope for the Best, Be Prepared for the Worst

Oil spills, hurricanes, wildfires, and flooding. These recent unpredictable disasters, coupled with escalations in burglary and identity theft in this down economy, make it increasingly important to have an emergency plan in place. Let SAM guide you through the process.

Natural Disasters

Prescriptions, financial records, food, and water. Make sure your family has these necessities, and your emergency communication plan, ready at a moment’s notice.

Get the coverage you need. Find out about flood insurance and other protections for your family and property.

Assess, document, and report. When the dust settles, take action.

Contact your insurance company, creditors, and employer.

Use government disaster aid services.

Plan your financial recovery.

Theft

Don't be a target.

Keep personal items, such as electronics and purses, out of sight in your home and car.

Maintain good records and work with police and insurance agencies to protect yourself before and after burglary occurs.

Guard your personal information.

Shred credit card bills, legal documents, and mail containing sensitive data.

Beware of phishing and other online scams.
